Kundalini yoga is my jam

Oh yes. I am a big fan of Kundalini Yoga. It is definitely what I've been searching for with yoga. I'd never been a big fan of yoga. Ever since I took a class and fell asleep at the end during shavasana. Mortified.

Dog Meditation

These days, I'm practicing dog meditation. That is a form of falling into meditation whilst holding your dog on your lap, in your arms, by your side while petting him.

Yep, that's what I do throughout the day. In the nighttime, we are sort of crate training our little guy so I put him in his crate and pet him to soothe him while he is in his crate. I pet him until he crawls into a little heap and falls asleep. This can be 10 minutes or 20 minutes. In any case, whatever the time, is however long I am meditating.

Pretty good deal right? Yes, go out and get a dog. It's a win-win for everyone! A dog gets a furever home and you get some meditation in your life. Connect with your inner wisdom.

Check out A Purposeful Rescue, which is where we got our very senior (10 years old) puppy.

Yoga Plus

Finding my meditation

I am been trying to find my meditation for a looooooooong time now. Back in Pittsburgh about 15 years ago a friend had introduced me to Soka Gakkai, a Japanese sect (? right word) of Buddhism. I tried it out a bit but never really connected. Then in New York, I came across a Soka Gakkai center and tried again. Still, not quite there. I even got a tattoo of a lotus on my wrist to remind me to chant!

Dying to be Me by Anita Moorjani

Just finished reading Anita Moorjani's book Dying to Be Me and I LOVED IT!  It is such a good book.  It is an eye-opening book about life perspective given from Anita's Near Death Experience.  I recommend everyone read it.

Manifest your destiny

This is what I'm into lately.  Truthfully, I've been trying to find meditation for a long time.  I have a tattoo of a lotus flower on the inside of my wrist that I had put there to remind me to meditate.
