Well, I'm not going to go so far as to make a blanket statement about all 6 year olds...and say how crazy they can be...but I will say that my very own 6 year old - going to be 7 year old soon is really becoming quite the challenge. Quite the test of my very own patience.

Being Able to Let Go...
Wow, it's been a hot minute since I've posted. Life...just sort of got in the way. Sure, there were things that I wanted to post about, thought about posting about, but then just got sidetracked.
What is striking me lately is that as a parent, we really need to have the ability to just Let Go. I am talking about being able to pry yourself away from keeping and "packratting" away Every. Single. Artwork. That your kid draws.

Gentle reminders
I came across this excerpt the other day:
.What I’ve come to understand is that the most important work I do to see a child in positive ways is within me. I must continually work to transform my own view of children’s behaviors, see their points of view, and strive to uncover how what I am seeing reveal s the children’s deep desire, eagerness, and capacity for relationships. There is no more important or rewarding work than this."
And it serves as a reminder to me that everything is within me. What I make of any situation, if I choose to see the glass as half empty or half full, this decision is within me and I need to see the positives MORE.
